PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
Fees are for one 16-week semester.  Payment plans and financial aid are available.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS are offered on the following instruments:

  • Woodwinds:  Clarinet, saxophone, recorder, flute  (Jeri Bannister & Jeanne Hurlburt)
  • Brass: trumpet, trombone (Jeri Bannister)
  • Strings:  Violin, viola, cello,  (David Tasgal, Cecilia Berger, Anna Wetherby) 
  • Guitar:  electric bass, guitar,  and electric guitar  (Karl Rausch)
  • Percussion: Beginning Drums ( Jeri Bannister)
  • Piano: (Phyllis Kirkpatrick, & Ed Wise)
  • Voice:  (Margery Heins)

 

Beginning Guitar (16 wks) Ages 8-12
Fridays, 4:30-5:30
Instructor: Karl Rausch
Fee: $200

Students will learn notes and scales in first position on the guitar. Both electric and acoustic guitars are welcome. We will also begin to learn chords that will open up songs that students can play together.  We will work on playing melodies and strumming chords.


String Ensembles (16 wks) ages 8-14
Saturdays, 8-9am - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students
          9-10 am Select Ensemble by audition

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES


Student Serenades:   Informal performances of works in progress  performed in front of a very supportive audience.  Sundays, 4 pm at Artspace: March 18 and April 29.  Sign up with your teacher.

Recitals: More formal performances of polished works.  Sundays, January 29 and May 20th.  

Winter Recital will be at All Souls Church, corner of Hope and Main Streets, Greenfield on January 29.  Free admission.  Recital begins at 2 pm.

 


GROUP LESSONS
Strings, Woodwinds or Brass – 1 hour weekly  - prices vary depending how many students are in the class.
