General Information - Fall 2008 Semester
There are many opportunities listed in this catalog for your family to be involved in music and the visual arts. The fall semester is September 15 - January 9. Each semester is 16 weeks in length. Classes are held at Artspace, 15 Mill Street, Greenfield. Lessons and classes listed in this catalog are offered for the fall and spring semesters, unless noted otherwise. Classes in this catalog are listed by age of student.
Classes in Art and Music are designed to impart basic skills that will serve the student for a lifetime. We offer classes for beginners and more experienced musicians and artists. Classes are a great way to be introduced to concepts, methods and materials that will be useful in future study of a particular instrument or art form.
Private Music Lessons are one-on-one lessons designed to meet your needs on a particular instrument. We expect that you will commit to daily home practice to ensure a successful private lesson experience. Students are expected to attend a monthly ensemble class and a Playing Together weekend once a semester.
Music Ensembles are for students who have gained some skills and who are ready to make music with others.
Recitals and Student Serenades are performance opportunities for students. The Serenades are informal performances - works in progress - at Artspace. These occur more frequently than Recitals that are more formal and are for students who have mastered their repertoire.
Student and Faculty Exhibits and Performances are scheduled at Artspace to highlight the accomplishments of the students and the talented faculty who guide them.
Space to Rent
Artspace has space to rent. If you need a practice room with piano - we have it. If you need a place to have an exhibit - we have it. If you need a space for a meeting, rehearsal or party - we have it. If you live in our neighborhood and need a parking space - we have it. If you need an art room for a child's birthday party - we have it. We have space available in the mornings, some evenings, and most weekends. Call us for information at 413-772-6811.
